Summer Gala Sept 5th & 6th 2015


We would like to welcome you this weekend to our Gala. With 4 locomotives in steam and 1 diesel along with a intensive passenger service, including brake van rides, it is sure to be a real treat. Also this weekend there will be coal and freight train demonstrations, including our recently acquired MGR fleet to showcase our local industrial heritage. There is something for everyone at Chasewater Railway including our museum, heritage centre, variety of shops, model railways and tea room. So come along and see us this weekend for a chuffing good day out at Chasewater Railway….. more than just a train ride! Annual Charities Day 2015

Come along to Chasewater Railway’s annual charities day  Sunday 2nd August 2015 11am-5pm where we open the station to local charities and community groups. Here they can raise awareness of their organisation or sell crafts and gifts etc. to raise much needed funds. Steam train rides, plus more to be announced soon. Burton Brewery Day 12th July 2015

Brewery2015Our next event sees some of our large brewery locomotive collection in action at Brownhills West plus a regular steam hauled passenger service. The event will also see brewery related exhibits on show. more details to follow soon.

Coal Train Day – June 21st/ Fathers Day.


Our next event is our popular coal train day which is also Fathers day so bring Dad along for a special treat. Featuring a range of our locomotives on both passenger and demonstration coal trains that were once an everyday sight here at Chasewater and the surrounding area. New for this year the event will feature two of our recently acquired MGR coal hoppers, see the news article here for more on those.

Open 10 am- 5pm with passenger trains and coal trains running plus Museum,Model railways at both BHW and CWH stations, Tea room, gift & model shops, Mabel’s vintage carriage and more.

Bring Dad along for a Fathers day treat 

Ticket prices are £5.95 for adults and £3.45 for Children (under 3 travel free) or a family group of  4 people (2 adults max) £15.45



Easter Family Fun

We will be running on the following days over the Easter school holidays. More than a train ride, a great family day out.

April 3rd .9th 11th Diesel, 4th,5th,6th, 12th Steam.

Bring your Teddy to meet Teddy the little engine. Easter Eggs for children travelling with us on 5th,6th of April.

Gala Feb28th/Mar 1st 2015&timetable

The confirmed visiting loco is the beautiful Peckett ‘Teddy’, small but perfectly formed Teddy weighs in at 11 tons but like ‘Colin Mcandrew ‘ has the heart of a lion. We can’t wait to see Teddy at Chasewater. February 28th and March 1st Industrial gala 10am-5pm. Intensive timetable to follow later this week so keep watching. Subject to availability the line up will be :-

Guest Locomotive – Peckitt “Teddy” and long term guest Staffordshire built Bagnall “Kent No.2”

Plus home fleet

Hunslet “Holly Bank No.3”, RSH “Nechells No.4”, and 104 year old  Barclay “Colin McAndrew”



This special event offer great value for money featuring 5 engines in steam, brake van rides, demonstration Freight/coal trains, accredited museum, model railway and Narrow Gauge train (Sun only and weather permitting/ small extra charge), gift shops, tea room (BHW) and cafe (CWH). Day Rover Tickets are priced at Adults £7.00 Children 3-15 £3.50(under 3yrs travel free), 1 free ticket for a travelling companion required by a fare paying wheelchair user, no other concessions, vouchers or HRA passes available/accepted during special events – members on production of valid membership card is £2 per person named on the card. All advertised services and locomotives subject to availability.

Jan1st-Mince pie special/mini gala

NYD2014kylebtripleheaderOur steam locomotives that are available for traffic will come out to celebrate the start of 2015. A chance to take it easy and enjoy the sights and sounds of our industrial steam engines whilst travelling through Chasewater Country Park and enjoying a mince pie. No need to pre book for this one just turn up first train at 11am and last train leaves BHW at 14:45. Further details will appear here shortly. This is our last operating day until the end of February.


Summer Steam Gala September 6th/7th 2014

gala advertSummer steam Gala 2014. 

After much planning we are pleased to announce that the visiting loco for the September gala will be the beautiful Beyer-Peacock saddle tank no.1827 built in 1879 visiting us from it’s usual home at the Foxfield Railway . This will be the first visit to Chasewater by this loco and the first time for over half a century that a Beyer-Peacock has worked on the Cannock chase colliery system. We are looking forward to our Victorian visitors arrival. Long term guest WG Bagnall 0-4-0st Kent No.2, RSH 0-6-0t Nechells No.4 and Barclay 0-4-0st Colin McAndrew form the rest of the line up. 

UPDATE 04/09:- Unfortunately the steam powered crane will not now be in use due to the qualified operator been taken ill. 

The weekend will feature extensive passenger service, demonstration trains, shunting, museum, model railway and more.

Ticketing information, Day Rover – £7.45 Adult, £6 Concession, £3 Child (3-15 years), £15 Family ( up to 4 persons , max 2 Adults)

Please note as usual during special events restrictions apply as follows :-  Members supplement £2.50 Adults and Children (Under 16) free, Active volunteers free, HRA passes not accepted).
