Events : Summer Steam Gala September 6th/7th 2014

gala advertSummer steam Gala 2014.

After much planning we are pleased to announce that the visiting loco for the September gala will be the beautiful Beyer-Peacock saddle tank no.1827 built in 1879 visiting us from it’s usual home at the Foxfield Railway . This will be the first visit to Chasewater by this loco and the first time for over half a century that a Beyer-Peacock has worked on the Cannock chase colliery system. We are looking forward to our Victorian visitors arrival. Long term guest WG Bagnall 0-4-0st Kent No.2, RSH 0-6-0t Nechells No.4 and Barclay 0-4-0st Colin McAndrew form the rest of the line up.

UPDATE 04/09:- Unfortunately the steam powered crane will not now be in use due to the qualified operator been taken ill.

The weekend will feature extensive passenger service, demonstration trains, shunting, museum, model railway and more.
