Now you can take part in a completely new locomotive driving experience. Join the team at Chasewater Railway for a day to remember where you will drive and fire one of our industrial locos for the day.

The course will involve a route-learning trip on one of our diesel shunters. Candidates will then have a chance to get to know their steam loco controls on a light engine run. The rest of the day will be given over to driving and firing the loco with the choice of wagons or coaches attached.

Basic railway safety training will be given to all participants. Courses can also be tailor made to your requirements (subject to availability).

Courses will normally be run on a Saturday or weekday by prior arrangement.
