We would like to announce that after six years of ongoing negotiations with Network rail we have finally saved the fantastic Midland Railway footbridge formerly located at Bagworth and Ellistown station on the Leicester and Burton railway. The bridge has been kindly donated to us by Network rail and we would like to thank them and the guys from Qts who took it down. We would also like to thank Peter Murray from hauliers Ed Murray who supplied two drivers, tractor units and four trailers to move the bridge components to Chasewater. The bridge spanned four tracks and dates from the late 1870s, will be restored and erected on brick pillars at Chasewater heaths station in due course. Another fantastic addition to our great railway.
