News : Jan 1st Mince Pie special

Come along to Chasewater Railway on Friday Jan 1st 2016 – No need to book in advance.

Update 23/12

With the Santa season nearly over our thoughts turn to the annual new years day bash at Chasewater. This year we have at least two steam locos and three diesel locos in service. Train services will start around 10.30 am and run until it goes dark. A special treat this year will be 08441 working various trains , a big thanks to Andrew Goodman for allowing us to use it. With freight and passenger services along with museum , cafe and model railway all open Chasewater is the place to visit on January 1st 2016.

This is day with something for everyone where the only thing guaranteed is a mince pie and a friendly welcome. Our volunteers run an intensive service on an “any of our loco’s available may be used” basis as seen fit by the days duty controller. This will be a mix of steam and/or diesel locomotives on passenger trains with also the possibility of freight, coal or mineral demonstration trains. Spend a couple of hours or even the whole day relaxing on our trains, by the fire in the sidings tea room or in our museum plus the gift and model shop will be open. The trains start from 11am and continue until dusk. If any particular locomotive or service is confirmed we will update here and our Facebook page (click here)

Ticket prices for the mince pie specials are £5.95 Adults and £3.45 Children valid for travel on all trains on the day and this includes a mince pie.
