News : News Flash- Locomotive purchased

It is with great pleasure that we would like to announce the railways purchase of Hunslet 0-6-0st ‘Darfield no.1’ from its former owner. The locomotive will be the first six coupled company owned steam loco to operate at Chasewater. She will continue to work in the current Staffordshire blue livery as ‘Holly bank’ after her boiler overhaul. This work will be carried out by our preferred contractor in consultation with our boiler inspector. We are hoping to have the loco back in traffic for the Christmas santa trains. Regular updates on the progress will be posted when we start the work, we are sure that like us you can’t wait to see the loco working again at Chasewater.
