News : Volunteer Opportunities at Chasewater Railway

Make new friends, learn new skills. Chasewater Railway is run by working members who are all Volunteers. You don’t have to have railway experience so if you like what you have seen here at the railway or find yourself with time on your hands, why not join our friendly team? With hours to suit, as little or as much time as you want to give, can make a real difference. With opportunities to work in different departments; Operations – footplate (steam & diesel) crews, Carriage and Wagon, Museum, Shops, Station Staff, Train Crews (Guard and Travelling Ticket Inspector), Maintenance and Restorations of Rolling Stock, Permanent Way (track), Building maintenance, Administration, Marketing, Narrow Gauge, Model Railway and Events. Previous experience is not necessary as full training will be provided, we are always looking to welcome new Volunteers. Under 21 years? Then join our very active Junior Team, not only are they involved in Operations and Permanent Way work, they also organise events such as Santa specials and the Halloween Special, which have been very successful. With their modern approach they keep in touch and up to date with their own group on Facebook. Whatever your skills and experience, working, house person, retired or studying, there’s something for you at Chasewater Railway.

If you want to find out more just email volunteers@chasewaterrailway.co.uk or pop in during our normal opening hours (Weds -Sun 11- 3 is best). Subject to volunteer availability we would be only to happy to show you round and discuss it further with you. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
