The Permanent Way Department is responsible for the maintainence, renewal and installation of the track, which includes plain line and Switches and Crossings (S&C) for the Railway.

Recently completed projects for the PWay Department include track renewals on the Causeway Bank, track-bed consolidation and track renewal between Norton Lakeside and Chasewater Heaths, and completion of the storage siding/refuge at Chasewater Heaths Station.

Forthcoming Projects

• Sleeper replacement on the Causeway
• Completion of S&C at Chasewater Heaths to re-instate the bay platform
• Provision of siding accommodation and road/rail loading facility at Chasewater Heaths Station

Future Projects

• Provision of a further storage siding at Brownhills West, between the overflow car park and Bay Platform No.1
