Madeley signal box at Brownhills West station

The Signal & Telecomms Department

The Signal & Telecomms Department (S&T Dept) has the aim to install, maintain and operate the signalling and telecomms equipment for the Chasewater Railway.

The Work of the Signal & Telecomms Department

Brownhills West Station

This project includes the station area, yard and track up to Willow Vale Bridge and is the largest project for the S&T Dept.

The former Madeley Signal Box (from the West Coast Main Line) will be brought back into use to control 3 operational platforms, goods reception road and double to single track within staion limits, all with possible room for expansion at a later date.

Chasewater Heaths Station

This project includes the station area, yard and level crossing. In due course the station will have 2 bi-directional through platforms, one bay and a limited goods yard.

The former Hademore Crossing Box has been kindly donated to us by Network Rail from their TV4 project, and repainted by volunteers at the railway. It is intended to bring this box into use at a future date to control movements in the station area.

Chasetown Church Street Station

A ground frame has been provided at Chasetown, locked by the section token.

Volunteer!

Most of the work currently is renovation and maintainance of installations, with some new works.

If you'd like to come along and help, just send us an email for more information.
