Opening Hours, Timetables and Fares

Our site is usually open as follows but changes sometimes are necessary due to volunteer availability so please do phone if making a long journey.

Weekends/ Bank holidays 9:30am till 5pm and on Weekdays Weds – Fri 10am-4pm . The museum is open Sun/Bank Hols 11-4pm. Site usually closed Mon/Tues except Bank Holidays.

We operate trains on Weekends April to September, Sundays only in March, October and November, additionally on certain Tues or/and Thurs during Staffordshire school holidays. please see the calendar or brochure for full timetable details.

but during Special events and on our Halloween and Santa Specials times vary and details are advised in the news section.

Standard Gauge Fares – Day Rover ticket (valid for the day of issue):

  • Adults: £4.95
  • Child (3-15 )/ Concession: £3.95
  • Family (Family group of 4 – 2 Adults max): £12.95
  • Under 3’s free (excluding Santa & Halloween Trains)

Tickets usually valid on all trains on date of issue but please do note different fares and/or validity restrictions apply to Gala’s, Santa Specials & Certain special events (see the individual events page to view prices for these). Members – please present you membership card to the booking office to get issued with a free ticket to travel except on special events where a £3 supplement per member is payable and Santa specials where full price is payable. HRA Members please present your pass at booking office and tickets will issued except for special events and Santa specials.
