Group & Party Bookings at the Chasewater Railway

What We Can Offer

The Chasewater Railway can provide a low-cost opportunity for you to arrange your special event in unusual surroundings.

Whether you are planning a birthday party or other special event, or you are thinking about something different for your school, nursery or playgroup, we may be able to provide a solution.

For the most cost-effective event, we can arrange reserved accommodation on our regular public trains. However, we can also arrange private charter trains on other days, subject to availability.

On Our Regular Public Trains

We charge just £2.95 per adult and £1.95 for each child under 16 years of age. For this we provide reserved accommodation in one of the carriages, together with a table if you wish to lay out any refreshments.

Normally, a round trip takes about 40 minutes, but many parties like to take more than one journey. This is no problem, but you should check the timetable for the day you intend to travel - our standard services normally run every hour and a quarter, whilst our special operating timetables vary.

If you need early access to the train to decorate your reserved accommodation, this can also be arranged. We try to meet all reasonable requests - you will find us very flexible. A deposit of about 25% of the cost will secure your booking. Cheques should be made payable to "Chasewater Railway".

Charter Trains

Subject to availability, we can provide trains on non-scheduled travel days specifically for your needs. Whether for a large party or a corporate event, we are flexible enough to accommodate you.

Hire charges are -

Using small diesel loco: £100 for up to 3 hours (minimum charge); then £25 per additional hour.
Using large diesel loco: £150 for up to 3 hours (minimum charge); then £50 per additional hour.
Using steam loco: £350 minimum charge.

Catering and Entertainment

We can now offer a Catering Service and a Children's Entertainer (at additional cost) for all Group Bookings. Subject to availability.

Please note there are no toilets on our trains, but facilities are available at both Brownhills West & Chasewater Heaths Stations.

We may not be able to offer multi-journey reservations facilities on our Santa trains in December, due to high demand for seats on these very popular trains.
